I am very pleased with my four valve Copper bell Stomvi C trumpet. As a freelance player, I purchased mine in the Fall of 2022 and have been using it as my main C trumpet since then. I am first and foremost an orchestral player, and the sound and intonation this horn provides is just what I need.
The four valve version is particularly useful for playing low D and C# in tune without having to worry about getting the third slide out just the right amount to be in tune. The extra range is a benefit, but for me, it’s the intonation that is its greatest benefit.
I find that it actually DOES play more easily than even my beloved Schilke C series trumpets that I’ve used since High School (a VERY long time ago).
