I recently purchased the Elite flugelhorn with the copper bell while attending the National Trumpet Competition in March. After several rehearsals and my most recent performance this past Saturday, the Elite is the best flugelhorn I have played in my life. My previous flugelhorn was the Yamaha 631 and it never sounded the way I needed it to. The sound that I can produce with my new Elite is so rich and textured, it is hard to believe I am the player behind this horn. I am using a stock Stomvi 4FL mouthpiece that I got with the Elite and right away the improvement was dramatically obvious. The Elite is extremely easy to play in all registers and the flexibility and accuracy are excellent with a smooth valve action. As a jazz player in a big band as well as small group bands my Elite is just perfect for the various charts and venues that I get to play. I now practice more on my flugelhorn than I do on my VRII. The Elite flugelhorn is the most fun to play by far! I am so happy with my new Elite flugelhorn, I wish I would have gotten it sooner.
